Proverbs 4:1-4 Children Need A Father Like God

Proverbs 4:1-4

1 Hear, O children, the instruction of a father, And pay attention [and be willing to learn] so that you may gain understanding and intelligent discernment. 2 For I give you good doctrine; Do not turn away from my instruction. 3 When I was a son with my father (David), Tender and the only son in the sight of my mother (Bathsheba), 4 He taught me and said to me, “Let your heart hold fast my words; Keep my commandments and live.

The word father in the Holy Bible is written  1583 times, but the Lord the Creator is our Heavenly Father. Children are the offspring of their father and mother, the child will have a feature of mom and dad, maybe daddy’s eyes or momma’s nose. On the sixth day of creation, our heavenly Father said let’s make man in Our images.

Genesis 1:26  Then God said, “Let Us make mankind in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the livestock and over all the earth, and over every crawling thing that crawls on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Like a good father, the Lord gave the men and women instructions ( His word )obey My command and you will live ( Genesis 2:16-17).  Families were designed with a full unit, with mother and father. A man of God is the perfect father, but even if the man doesn’t believe in God, a devoted father can give his children love and direction. Children who are rebellious or criminally active grew up in a home without a  father. I am so grateful my father stayed in my life after my parents’ divorce and I can still remember words of wisdom he taught me. A family home isn’t complete without a loving mother, who makes her children feel tender and gentleness. When a man and woman become parents, that title of that role never goes away. Children are born with no knowledge or ability to care for themselves. After birth, they are fed, clothed and given shelter. They  learn how to talk by listening to their parents speak, mother or father will hold their child’s hands until they can walk on their own. If children are to learn about the Lord and how to obey His voice, then the best way is that  their father and mother’s  voice and  words sound like the Heavenly Father instructions. God bless you all, Jesus loves you and so do I. Samuel J Head

1 John 3:1See how great a love the Father has given us, that we would be called children of God; and in fact we are. For this reason, the world does not know us: because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him because we will see Him just as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope set on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
