Proverbs 12:14 Godly Fruits Fields Forever

Proverbs 12:14

A person will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words, and the deeds of a person’s hands will return to him.

I did not know what to say or write about Proverbs 12:14 until I thought and reflected on my relationship with my friend and roommate, Jason Fields. He saw a post of mine on a local website called Nextdoor. He told me my blogs were terrific, and I had different ways of explaining scripture. He said God wanted him to help me and asked if I needed some money, and I said sure.  So he sent me $300 and told me to go enjoy a steak dinner, and I did as Jason said. Later, he asked if I could visit him. I said sure again; I was looking for a place to live at the time, and Jason even hinted that he may offer to let me live with him. My visit with Jason was excellent, and I moved in with him. The agreement was I was his Bible teacher. He asked me to make him a Bible reading program and study frequently. I made the Bible reading program, but he hardly read scripture, which is why he asked for the program. He devotes most of his time to sports and trying to get help for his depression. When I tried to have Bible study with Jason, he told me my teaching was too judgmental, but I was only trying to teach the truth of God’s word. We went to have steak dinner for my birthday. On the way home, Jason asked if reading the Bible was a requirement, I said yes, scripture says it a few times. He disagreed with me and a little debate started so I decided to let it be.

Matthew 4:4 But He answered and said, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God.'”

Jason has spent lots of time and money to get help with his depression. He has gotten better, but the depression lingers like a bad habit. Last night I was a little concerned that he says he believes in God and spends lots of time asleep because he stays depressed. I have autism, anxiety, and anger issues. I pray about it and ask God to help me, but Jason’s depression is not helping me. When I saw and overlooked Proverbs 12:14, it said a man will be blessed by the fruit of his words. I remember when I did the fruits of the Holy Spirit a few years ago, and my stepfather told me that all people have the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Still, the Spirit of God will amplify those fruits.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law.

Jason has admitted to me and others a few times that he doubts God; he doubts reading scripture should be daily, as he believes. His spiritual life is in a funk, a season he calls it. God is the Lord of light, and His word should remove the darkness of depression, but that will not happen when doubt is in a person’s heart. The fruit of faithfulness keeps a child of God reading and obeying His word. Self-control. Keeps a child of God at it and not slacking off. The fruits of joy and peace are the results of not doubting God. Truly loving God gives a person a desire to do such, but there is no love in doubt because it removes trust in Him. The fruit of patience helps a person wait and see if God will answer and keep His word. Jason is a gentle, kind soul full of lots of good, but he will have more good if he trusts and obeys God, or else he will stay in the season of depression. Pray for my dear friend and me, and may you all have the fruits of the Holy Spirit. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you, and I do too. His bondservant, Samuel Jerry Head.

Hosea 14:2 Take words with you and return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all guilt And receive us graciously, So that we may present the fruit of our lips.

Galatians 5:24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow the Spirit as well. 26 Let’s not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.
