If your friends jumped off a cliff is a famous phrase most parents will ask their Peer pressure is a strong influence on people of all ages, but even more so for young children and teenagers. The good godly parent will teach their children what is right or wrong, but when a child wants to have friends, they may do things to fit in and be accepted. It happens to me; I was offered a marijuana joint and saw nothing wrong with it. Humans all need to fit in and be accepted; family members are easy, they love us no matter what. Gaining friends is a little different, not so challenging, but mom or dad will love hardly change; friends may come and go like chasing the wind. Modern-day peer pressure is way more cause our electric device records it. Taking the perfect selfie or recording the best Tik Tok video is very important to young people. So many foolish accidents and death happen when a person trying to such, and even more so, many people don’t pay attention while texting or searching the web on a smartphone and accidents happen. In 2018 there was about 259 death and 137 non-fatal accidents that happen, all because someone wanted the best picture to liked on social media most likely. Tik Tok is a very popular way for people to record themselves with very short videos and try to unique and show off their skills. I have seen many kinds of Tik Tok videos and some are just someone lips-synching a song or a screen from a film but accident also happen and some fatal sometimes. Many times if Tik Tok video is popular, users will try to copy that with their own style. Recently a 13-year-old girl was badly burned to a third-degree level. This issue isn’t just a United States local problem; on May 16 of 2021, a boat accident happens in Indonesia when a 13-year boy trying to take a selfie made the boat overturned, killing 9 people and two of the younger children. A 19-year-old boy from Pakistan wanted to play on a plank on his friend on his Tik Tok account by trying to fake suicide. The boy pointed a gun to his head he thought was not loaded but when to pull the trigger is died immediately. Mom and dad give good instruction on how to live a long, happy life cause they truly love their children for who they are; the Lord, our heavenly Father, wants the same. The Lord’s words and guidance do not lead to self-destruction but a blessed happy life. A wise simply lives trying to please many or friend that doesn’t love or like for you for who are or are not. You and I should trust and obey those who know what is best, and most of the time, that is our heavenly Father and our loving parents.
