People have always wanted a heads up on their tomorrow, to be prepared to meet a soulmate, to know if a job or promotion was coming and the numbers to use for a lottery. The ancient Babylonian astronomers made up a system, which is known as the zodiac horoscope. They would take a group of stars and design 12 equal signs, into a 30 day period. The whole zodiac was introduced between 409-398 B.C., for example, Cancer, Aquarius, and Capricorn, which mean nothing to a Christian and. People still look up daily predictions and trust these bogus beliefs. Jesus said in the gospel not to worry about tomorrow.
Little children are taught a nursery rhyme, “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”, the cute little rhyme is about an individual who is gazing at a star. “ Twinkle, Twinkle little star, How I wonder, what you are, “ no matter how cute and innocent the lullaby sounds, the star will never answer the young child’s questions. Have you ever attend a wedding and heard the priest say, ‘ Do you Gemini take this Virgo, or do you Cancer take this Capricorn? You shouldn’t identify your character by a system that was made up of stargazers from thousands of years ago. Only a person with a real close relationship with the Maker of the star can and read what God has in store for him or her.
Ask yourself, my brothers and sisters, and I need to ask myself also, should we go to stars, trees, cows, bats, green plants, or mushrooms to get answers to our question or try to see a prediction for our tomorrows. If so, whose voice is louder, the twinkling stars, or God’s voice who made the stars and your ear that is supposed to hear God’s voice?
