Matthew 7:24-27 The Cornerstone and Water Damage
24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”
Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount is coming to end and tells His congregation of believers that His words are solid rock. Any stepping to the right or the left is foolish. Tightrope walking is like walking by the words of Jesus, as long as the word (wire) is under your feet and you maintain a balance, a person will safely make it to the otherwise. A step in any direction other than trusting the narrow rope under your feet, will lead you to your death below. Jesus makes comparison, telling His congregation, He words He preaches that the sermon on the mount is firm foundation, any other foundation is weak. The words of Jesus in Matthew 5, 6 & 7 are no different from the rest of scripture. It is important for a Christian to have strong structure and in my person experience, water can do a lot of damage to a home. It doesn’t matter if a small leak from a pipe or tidal wave from a hurricane, water damage is horrible and can be costly. A Christian’s life, not the solid word of Jesus, can be just as costly & the world of Christianity is full of many different teachings and beliefs. As of 2020 there are numerous Christian denominations, and denominations broken off from different denominations. There are almost three different Catholic denominations, within the Baptist 21 different denominations by itself. So how are believers supposed to the true house of God that teaches the true foundation of Jesus’ teachings. If you really want to read the truth reading from the false, study and read the word for yourself daily. Therefore if you hear a false teaching in church ask what is wrong and if they refuse to give a correct answer, just agree to disagree and find another church. Churches have become flexible with God’s word, flexible with homosexuality, flexible unborn children’s lives, flexible with divorce, flexible with being subject to government, flexible with separating tradition from scripture & flexible with which one of the commandments of God to keep or break. What does the word of God say about how much the Lord changes and how much He stays the same, let’s ask scripture.
Malachi 3:6 “For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.
Beloved if you really wanna see what groups of Christians lives are one solid ground and shaky foundation, look at them in times get tough. Watch them when they work tirelessly seven days a week, not even giving the Lord one day a week. They might go to church on a day, but still, that is as far as some go, when the church lets out, it’s all about me & the food at restaurant cook and serve to me & the sports or entertainment on TV. Do you think those Christian houses are on solid rock or shifty sand? This is my next to last Bible blog on the Sermon on the Mount series. I have learned as i have taught, I would like to know what you would like me to teach? Either the 10 Commandments, book of James, story of Creation from Genesis Chapter 1, let me hear your feedback & pray for me that God will direct me. God bless you all, the Lord loves you and so do I. Sam H.
The Sermon on the Mount Series Finish After Tomorrow, I am asking If you would like to Study Genesis Chapter 1, The 10 Commandments From Exodus Chapter 20, or the letter of James, give me feed and let me know, thanks and God bless, Sam H
