Matthew 6:27-31 The Beatitude of Living Like Lilies

Matthew 6:27-30

27  And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? 28 And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31 Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’

Many People claim to follow the words of Jesus & believe in Him, but we have mental problems like anxiety, depression, stress & worry. I am talking from personal experiences, cause I have suffered from these mental problems. It is only recently with more scripture reading & giving to the voice of the Holy Spirit to tell me, “Pay your tithe, Sam, God will bless you,” It wasn’t just the Holy Spirit telling me, but my Pastor Hean & my brother in Christ Doc Williams. Other than the word of God, that gives direction, Jesus is telling His followers in these passages, don’t worry if you call yourself, son’s & daughters of God, cause the Lord gives. In the book of Genesis 1:26-31,  where the Lord is creating heaven & earth, He provides the man & woman He made with food & a place to live. In the same chapter of Genesis 1, God gave the fish, birds, & the cattle with a place to live & food to eat, not only that God put mankind to have rule over them animals. Ever since fall of man, I think the sons & daughters of Adam of Eve worry more, then the creation that is around us. Jesus tells His followers to observe the lilies, I know some of mow your lawn or pull weeds from the garden, guess what  the grass & wild flowers will go back.  Do you know how the grass & lilies grow & what they feed ? Science calls it photosynthesis, the definition of the scientific words, is the energy plant life absorbs for sunlight & cause it feeds & continues to grow, then regrow after some mows their lawn. Creation & the nature around us is God’s word also, it speaks of His glory & wonderful touch. The Holy Bible even says no Christian or non-Christian has an excuse that God doesn’t exist. All we have to do is look around at God’s wonderful creation & see His divine power & if anyone can’t see God spectacular work is a fool.

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

So what does a person have to grain in being foolish & having worry inside his/her heart. The  Lord Jesus tells us a doubt or can not add time to their lifespan or even, as a matter of fact, it will reduce the life of a person. People who worry more & have high levels of stress, their bodies will produce a chemical that is hormone that makes your immune system weak & fight off illness less. A person with lots of worry, will have high blood pressure, fast beating heart, slow digestion (which will make you fat), stomach ulcers. All these health problems will lead your grave sooner then, person who trusts in the Lord 100%. So if you wanna die young, be like a fool (Psalm 14:1) says a person that doesn’t believe in God. Cause if you have worry in your heart, then your actions say there is no such thing as God. If you don’t trust Him. Right now in the middle of a pandemic of COVID-19, people are worried, cause some aren’t allowed to work, income from jobs are getting short & tension is high. I saw on the news a man wearing a mask & latex gloves pull a pistol out at a supermarket, cause someone barely touched him, now you tell me, those this sound like someone who’s trust is in God Almighty. Right now, the Lord can see who is His wheat & who is the tare, the real Christian from the fake ones, but remember this a long life is only promise to those, who trust & obey in Jesus, cause there is no other way.
