Matthew 5:14-16 Beatitude of the Lord’s Light Give Life
Even if Jesus stops saying you blessed at Matthew 5:12; your life will still be a blessing, if you have the beatitude or characteristic of the Lord. Last Sabbath I heard a sermon say people feel more distant from each other, even with technology, where anyone, anywhere can communicate all over the world. In 1970 Diana Ross released her first solo single, “Reach Out & Touch (Some body’s Hand). Her song didn’t start out as a big hit, but later it gained popularity, when she performed at a live show, she would ask the crowd to grab & hold hands. She also performed this song as the finale for the Nobel Peace Prize Concert held in Oslo, Norway, in 2008. Everyone wants a life where he or she is noticed or to know that their life means something. The Lord Jesus tells the congregation of followers but then & now, if you follow My words & practice My teaching, you are the light of the world. You are not a light candle light, but as the sun that turns the night sky into day. I have suffered from depression myself & depression & anxiety, is a feeling of loneliness, but if we give our lives to the Lord, we become His children. Children of the Lord are just like children of our nature parents, they inherit His natural characteristic traits;
People like the word Christian, I personally like Jesus freak, a Jesus Freak lives like Jesus, loves like Jesus, & has deeds like Jesus. If we Jesus freak are walking around, showing love & kindness, to everyone we meet, then the light of Jesus in our behavior. Those kinds of people can’t be missed, Someone will say, there is that nice dude or lady they are so loving & will give the shirt off their back if need be. If you live your life for the Lord & practice the lifestyle that is in the beatitudes, you will be a blessing to everyone & especially to yourself & God. I hope you can see why the sermon on the mount is called the greatest sermon ever preached. Cause Jesus blessed words are medicine from a dark depressed word. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you & so do I. Let your Light shine! Sam H.
