Matthew 25:35-40 The Righteous Loving the Image of God

The Sheep and Goat Parable

Matthew 25:35-40

35 For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38 And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in, o,ome to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of Mine, you did it for Me.’

All the people of the world were made in the image of God, even if the person doesn’t live or walk as the Lord would want them, that person was made in God’s image. When an act of kindness is shown to others, the love of Jesus is seen in our action. When the Son of Man comes to separate those who live humble like sheep and those who live independently like goats and pass final judgment and give each the reward each deserves. A person doesn’t have to be Christian to show love or kindness, but some of the things only one who truly loves Jesus will go to the level of love. Take for example, how many people visit criminals behind prison walls, and tell them that Jesus loves them, even thieves, rapists, and even murders. There are not many who do prison ministry, but when the Holy Spirit says to you, give up your comfort zone to share Jesus’ love. Feeding the hungry and providing a tasty drink and even pulling a chair and giving hungry people a friendly conversation. That is what happens at a Christian soup kitchen. Just like Christian churches give food away at food banks, they also collect items like clothes, school supplies, toilet paper or razor to shave with. When the Son of Man comes He will separate those practicing the Love of Jesus away from those only those who showed the bitterness of Satan. Every person has some level of love, maybe showing love to family and friends, but not to enemies, but the sheep of God’s flock show love to all God’s children. The kingdom of heaven is for those who share the love of God. God bless you all, the Lord loves you and so do I. Samuel H.

Hebrews 13:1  Let love of the brothers and sisters continue. 2 Do not neglect hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. 3 Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are badly treated, since you yourselves also are in the body.
