Matthew 23:1-5 Woe American Pharisees!?
My beloved sister in Christ, Anna Tames, sent me a text message during Thanksgiving Thursday yesterday. It was a link to a YouTube video titled, “The Thanksgiving Day Ritual, a Celebration of Genocide!” It was a video that teaches the holiday of Thanksgiving Day is pagan. It is called a celebration of genocide because the Native American population has decreased since the European settled in the North American continent. Thanksgiving Day may be the one American holiday that really is not pagan, far more holy than Christmas. Thomas Jefferson is the only President of the United States who did not celebrate it because he was an atheist and did not want to devote himself to a holiday about prayer. The Puritans who came to America for religious freedoms were not violent. In fact, they were less damaging than those who protest Thanksgiving Day is about oppression against indigenous people. The pilgrims invited their neighbors, the Native Americans because they had helped them, survive the harsh winter. They had plenty of food, so wanted to give thanks to them and God, with a big meal, it lasted for days. The Native Americans were not forced to go, and they even bought their own food. They ate together and did not live far apart, too bad, modern America, cannot live without any disagreement without being labeled a racist. The Puritans call themselves that because they were pure to God’s word and God’s word alone. They did not even celebrate Christmas, because the date of Christ’s birth is not in scripture. Other Europeans who came later to America were not so pure to God’s word, so violence happened. The Trail of Tears happened because large groups of Natives were forced to travel west. The greatest thing that happened when people were seeking religious freedom, was the increase in Bible knowledge. There was no pope, kings, or queens to tell people how to worship, Since God’s word was not suppressed, more and more were learned about the Holy Bible. Wisdom and knowledge are far more advanced than the old world would have allowed them. The Hebrew and Greek languages are highly well known because of such ability. Religious groups like Messianic Jews, Black Hebrews, or Black Israelites, only call God by His Hebrew names. The Pharisees, Jesus was talking about In Matthew 23:1-5, were religious leaders between BC and AD. Not only did they teach God’s 10 Commandments, but they added commandments on top of commandments. One example was the 4th Sabbath day commandment. So many laws of regulation were added, to the holy day, because the Pharisees felt more holy than God. Jesus is God and knows the heart of men. He knew those religious leaders did not keep their own harsh rules, and neither did the people of most of the modern-day Messianic Jews. White Supremacy groups are called hate groups because they hate anyone who is not white. Some of them call themselves Christian and worship the God of love. Black Hebrews or Israelites are similar; they teach salvation is only allowed for the African race or people of color. Many members are in the Black Lives Matter movement. They call Thanksgiving Day genocide, but many Black Lives Matters members support abortion, which is genocide and the death toll is rising. Still, Christians do not protest it as much as a day to give thanks. I would gladly do away with Thanksgiving if you stop aborting unborn babies. If little boys and girls, can have a father and mother, who will raise them in a godly way, I will thank them and God for that. Let us remove pride from our hearts, and believe all lives matter, sins in the past stay in past. If cannot stop killing each other, no one is going to listen, if you or I cannot even practice what we preach. Religious hypocrisy happens, when you and I, tell others their religion has no love, and you or I, cannot even love our kids, born or unborn. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus, God of love, loves you, and so do I. His bondservant, Samuel H.
