Mark 13:32-37 Be Watchful

Watchful Servant Parable

Mark 13:32-37

But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 33 “Watch out, stay alert; for you do not know when the appointed time is. 34 It is like a man away on a journey, who upon leaving his house and putting his slaves in charge, assigning to each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay alert. 35 Therefore, stay alert—for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning— 36 so that he does not come suddenly and find you asleep. 37 What I say to you I say to all: ‘Stay alert!’”

Jesus is telling His disciples to keep a watchful eye to the heavens for the soon coming of the end and to bring judgment to the world. When Jesus descends from heaven, that subject is in scripture sixteen times. Bible verses that tell the children of God to be prepared for judgment day is in scripture numerous times. The disciples of Jesus loved spending time with that after He left,  they kept looking into the clouds of the sky hoping He would return as soon as He disappeared.

Acts 1:10 And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, then behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them, 11 and they said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”

Endtime events can be scary to someone to read about the horrible predicted in the book of Revelation, but to those who study scripture know that if their hearts are prepared the fear of Jesus’ coming is replaced with excitement. The main important thing is knowledge of God’s word, which has a Christian’s heart prepared for judgment day. It’s a lot like when you are driving your vehicle and you see a law enforcement up head on the road. They are doing a license check, or looking for drunk drivers or any violation that might be seen to keep the highways safe. My younger brother used to turn around and go the opposite direction, but the police saw him turn and go on their radio and call someone to go get him. But for a law abiding person, they have nothing to fear, if they have a legal driver’s license, tags, insurance and they are not drunk. A Christian who has read God’s word  and recognize  the sign of times, will say to themselves, “ Hey I got this, “ That is what the Lord Jesus Christ is telling His  disciples of all times, have your hearts ready, keep a watchful eye, and stay alert cause at any time, you and I could here the great trumpet sound and see the sky ripped up then Jesus comes in all His glory. Are you all ready my beloved brothers and sisters, I know I am. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you and so do I. Samuel H
