Luke 23:44-48 Jesus Is My God Everyday

Luke 23:44-48

44 It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the entire land until the ninth hour, 45 because the sun stopped shining; and the veil of the temple was torn in two. 46 And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into Your hands, I entrust My spirit.” And having said this, He died. 47 Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began praising God, saying, “This man was in fact innocent.” 48 And all the crowds who came together for this spectacle, after watching what had happened, began to return home, beating their chests.

As Jesus was being executed to the cross like a criminal He demonstrated to the universe, He was God Almighty Creator of heaven and earth. The people around the cross were people of all types, normal everyday common people of Jerusalem, the Jewish priest the there were Roman soldiers. Roman centurions had witnessed many executions by the cross and it wasn’t as pretty as artist painting of Jesus.  A cross was normally just rugged on the tree, having chopped off limbs that probably hurt like hell while laying against it. Execution by crucifixion on the cross was a very slow painful death,  a victim was stripped naked, then nailed, suffered from starvation. Their muscle and bones in terrible never-ending pain and the bleeding never stop. The Roman centurion witness Jesus do, something he never saw before, Jesus died that day. No one had control over when they die unless they did what Judas did and commit suicide, which is self-murder, but Jesus looked at Father God, knowing He paid the price for mine and your sins, He gave up His spirit, ( the breath of God ) and He died.

Luke 23:46  And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into Your hands, I entrust My spirit.” And having said this, He died. 47 Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he began praising God, saying, “This man was in fact innocent.

John 19:30  Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

Recognizing Jesus is Lord, can make a strong man or women break down go their knees, and give thanks to Father God for providing the whole world with the gif of salvation through the death of His only begotten Son. Are you and I so great or small to not recognize Jesus as the Son of God, some people may give devotion to Jesus at Christmas or Easter, but when are life and death not taking place.  When is Jesus Lord and when is He not, when are you sinning and when are you not, when do you need a Savior, and when do you not.  When do you want Jesus to be your Shepherd or when do you not? Is Jesus your Christmas and Easter God or is He all year round 24/7 God or is He not. Do you want a relationship with Jesus on the Sabbath or all days of the week, do you want the gift of Jesus on Christmas, Passover,  Easter, Resurrection day, Or do you want Jesus, Lord God of all of your whole entire life? Ask yourself this brother and sister, do you recognize Jesus, as the only way to everlasting life and the Almighty Son of God, Yes or No, there is no halfway answer.
