Luke 2:25-35 What Fear Is Death, With Hope In Jesus

Luke 2:25-35

25 And there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. 27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to carry out for Him the custom of the Law, 28 then he took Him into his arms, and blessed God, and said,29 “Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace,According to Your word;30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation,31 Which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples,32 A Light of revelation to the Gentiles,And the glory of Your people Israel.”33 And His father and mother were amazed at the things which were being said about Him. 34 And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary His mother, “Behold, this Child is appointed for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and for a sign to be opposed— 35 and a sword will pierce even your own soul—to the end that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.”

The biggest fear of mankind is death , even for people who believe in a better place, they do not want to die. Every person will pay  a lot of money for medical  help & even ask family, friends  & even strangers for prayers, for God or whoever they believe in to heal them. Many people probably believe being alive is better than being dead, & even the Bible says the same thing.

Ecclesiastes 9:4 For whoever is joined with all the living, there is hope; surely a live dog is better than a dead lion.

When the Holy Spirit told Simeon, he would not die, until he would see the Lord Christ. It must have been some comfort to Israelite, you would see the promised Messiah in your lifetime. Simeon heard Jesus crying out in pain, after Jesus had been circumcised. So Simeon took the baby Jesus in his hands & lifted Him up to heaven & gave God the praise, then said he was ready to enter the sleep of death . Many followers of Christ have heard the cry of Jesus while He suffered for all God’s people who are moved by the Holy Spirit, but we don’t have to fear death, even if it’s hard not to. If you know the word of God like Simeon, you will know how to recognize & accept Jesus Christ, death is not permanent. God bless you all. The Lord Jesus loves you & so do I.  Sam H.

Revelation 21:4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.
