John 2:23-25 Let It Rain Down On Me.

John 2:23-25

23 Now, while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name. 24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. 25 He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.

The more I study God’s word, the more I will see repeated words I do not hear others say so much, but they have powerful meanings. The word bondservant is repeated many times in the Old and New Testaments. Another word I have seen is testimony in the NIV English Bible 67 times. Other English Bibles will have another word for testimony with the same meaning; testify, witness, or even human nature. Jesus knew He was the Son of God and Son of Man, and John chapter 2 says many saw His sign and miracles. Jesus saw that many believed in Him, but He knew their hearts which doubted Him as well. I feel my belief in God is solid, but I also have many times of weakness. A few weeks ago, my brother in Christ, Jason, asked me if I wanted to go to a rock concert. The concert is during the Sabbath, so I did not want to go, so ask who was performing. Jason replied, Styx, Foreigner, and Loverboy, so I had three more reasons not to want to go. So, I answered, I had no money, so the only way I would go was if the tickets were bought for me to go. Jason seemed excited about it and would love to get out and enjoy live music. The Lord wanted me to go, so Jason said someone gave him free tickets, and we could both go. I was not looking forward to the concert, but I saw God perform a sign showing that He was in control. The concert was an outdoor event, and it was raining. My desire not to be was more because, as I looked at Jason, I could tell he was uncomfortable. I looked weather app on my phone, and the prediction of rain was 100%. I was trying to endure the rain but hoped in my heart that we would leave soon. I said a brief prayer within myself, God, do something. Loverboy was already performing and felt it to rain less. I heard the singer of the band say, looks like we are going to rock n roll, dry the rain has stopped. I felt God had given me the answer I needed to hear by stopping the rain. The weather app was still showing 100%, but the rock and roll concert fans were now experiencing 0% chances of rain. Doubt can and will be a gray cloud over faith, but I was still asking God, are you still there, and do you want me here? He answered by saying I stopped the rain, didn’t I? Scripture says the Lord sends rain and sunshine down on the righteous and wicked because He is a loving God. I knew God had shown me a sign, He is still in control, and my belief in Him is still rock solid. Our testimony is to say, with our mouth, I believe Jesus the God in the rain and sunshine and our hearts. God bless you all; the Lord Jesus loves you, and so do I. His bondservant, Samuel Jerry Head.

Isaiah 55:6 Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. 8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. 9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the Sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. 12 You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
