John 1:37-38 Teach Me Your Way, Lord

John 1:37-38

37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. 38 And Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you seeking?” They said to Him, “Rabbi (which translated means Teacher), where are You staying?

Have you heard a voice asking,” What are you seeking?” Do you seek to learn from Jesus, or do you really just trust your own understanding? When Jesus noticed the two men following  Him, He simply asked, what do you seek, and they answered, where are you staying. The disciple of John the Baptist just heard him say,” there is the Lamb of God,” so they followed Jesus because they trusted John. The word disciple means to be a student of a teacher, leader, or philosopher. The disciples of John the Baptist gave the answer Jesus, loves to hear, teach us. By calling Jesus Rabbi, they were leaving John the baptist teachings and desiring to be Jesus’ disciples.  My relationship with the Lord really did not start until I sought Jesus and followed His teachings. Sadly, I have witnessed others who do not want to follow the Lord the Rabbi’s teaching but lean on their own understanding. Where are you staying? The disciples ask Jesus, but surely, they should know, the lamb of God, so Jesus the Messiah, was from sent from heaven. So, they were asked to teach us, Jesus Rabbi, how to get to Your heavenly home. One thing John the Baptist taught is to repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand, which means you and I do not have to wait until judgment day to live in Jesus’ heavenly home.

Matthew 3:1 Now in those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying, 2 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” 3 For this is the one referred to by Isaiah the prophet when he said, “The voice of one calling out in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, Make His paths straight!’”

Mark 1:15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

We all live our lives in the wilderness if do not follow the teachings of Jesus, but when we believe in His gospel, the kingdom of heaven is in our hearts. That is what it means to believe and walk a straight path with the Lord. Seek the kingdom of God, and all else will follow you and me, all the days of our lives. Believe in the gospel messages. Not only will heaven be your and my future home, but the kingdom of heaven will live peacefully in our hearts. God bless you all, Jesus the Rabbi loves you, and so do I. His bondservant, Samuel Head.

Matthew 4:16 The people who were sitting in darkness saw a great Light, and those who were sitting in the land and shadow of death, upon them a Light dawned.” 17 From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
