John 10:18-21 The Abrahamic Religions and the Good Shepherd
John 10:18-21
Three religion have traces back to Father Abraham ; Judaism ; Christianity and Islam. The Gospel of John 10:1-21, is the parable of Jesus proclaiming His is the Good Shepherd of His sheep He loves and dies for.. The Jewish congregation listening to Jesus calling Himself the Good Shepherd gets upset when He says He has sheep elsewhere and that He will lay His life down from His other sheep. He calls Himself the The Great I Am several which is how the Lord Identify Himself to Moses in the book of Exodus;
Exodus 3:13 Then Moses said to God, “Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?” 14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
Jesus, You must be a demon for saying such things, they say , could be for many reasons. One reason, they are looking at a man made of flesh and blood, but He says His name is Jehovah (God Almighty) second He tells them that the Lord, the Good Shepherd, loves some group of people. If you think racism is a modern idea, it is as old as the nation of Israel. They had an idea Jehovah was only the land of Israel. Mostly because God told Abraham in voice, leave your homeland and go to a place, far from home and make a new place. I give you and all over children and their children will live there forever. God makes a covenant promise to Abraham. God will give Abraham a son by his barren wife Sarah and all of his children by Abraham promise that his son will also have a God in Jehovah. This is where the 3 religions which are called the Abrahamic religions began. Abraham and his faith in God was weak, cause they had been married many years, and her womb was dead as deserted. So Sarah told Abraham, have sexual relations with my Egyptian servant and because she is my servant, your child with her will technically ours. The word of God says to never exchange traditions for the commands of God’s voice. So when the founder of the Islamic religion Ishmael was born, it was out of Abraham’s disobedience. When sin and disobedience happen, the effect of can last forever, even if the actions are repent of and forgiven by God. When the Lord decided to keep His promise to Abraham, Sarah, Abraham’s wife gave birth to Isaac. Two religions came from Isaac birth Judaism and Christianity but of these 3 religions out of Abraham bloodline are the sheep Jesus gave His life for. Samuel H.
Numbers 27:16-17 “May the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation, 17 who will go out and come in before them, and who will lead them out and bring them in, so that the congregation of the Lord will not be like sheep which have no shepherd.”
