James 3:4 Talking Like A Sailor
If the book of James teaches me anything, if I call myself a bondservant of God, I need to have self-control and put my faith into action. Having self-control can be normally easy when everything is calm still waters, but life isn’t alway still or calm and even more so as a child of God. Our walk with God is a lot like shipt on water, doesn’t matter if it’s fresh or saltwater. As a Christian, I try to keep myself on the sunny side of life and watch the words that come out my, the actions my body does, but as a man still of flesh I will stumble. Jesus tells His follower that the time of rough sea is now as we live in time of tribulation now, and we can only overcome it if we have His peace in the troubled storms of life.
I tell the world I am Christian and I am supposed to have the Prince of Peace Spirit in my heart and mouth, but it is very easy to have a slip of the tongue and give the name of the Lord a vain meaning. A sailing ship has rudders, either small or large, the rudder keeps the ship going the direction the captain of the ship wants to go. If negative energy hits me all of sudden or even if the negativity is a recurring event, I must use the spirit of self-control and overcome the raging storm of tribulation in my life. The world around you and the people of it will identify me and you with the actions of our body and even more so by the words that come out of my mouth and whatever results from the words we say. Dear brothers and sisters, the Lord Jesus Christ, never used a negative word like an insult or disrespect to anyone. If you were doing some good, He would tell you, if you or I do wrong, His Spirit will tell you, strengthen up and allow the Spirit of God guard your heart and soul. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you and so do I. Samuel H.
Job 6:24 “Teach me, and I will hold my tongue; Cause me to understand wherein I have erred. 25 How forceful are right words! But what does your arguing prove? 26 Do you intend to rebuke my words, and the speeches of a desperate one, which are as wind?
