James 3:15-16 Selfish Wisdom
There is nothing wrong in gaining an education to better your knowledge to be able to provide a living for yourself. Many followers of the Lord pursue good wisdom both mankind wisdom and godly. The Lord doesn’t mind it, for us to provide for ourselves, He is not a greedy God after all. He gave us six days a week to labor, for us to earn a living and provide for yourself and family members.
I see comments all the time that the church is greedy and people say I don’t wanna give my money to a church or a pastor. People will say do, why do the Almighty God need my money. Well He doesn’t need your money, the church exists in the world and the crimoney of the world will help the church to minister to the needy, in times of trouble or maybe in some kind of crisis. Is the Lord God greedy in the matter or paying a tithe or maybe a little offering, let’s as the word of God.
So how would earthly wisdom go against godly wisdom according to these two biblical institutions? Worldly wisdom is someone who seeks selfish ambitions, so they would totally ignore the Lord’s Sabbath day of rest and also surrender a tenth of their income. At that mindset, a wealthy selfish person will think of themselves as a god, and the provider of their own empire. That is why God’s jealousy is righteous and mankind’s jealousy isn’t.
Worldly wisdom teaches some with selfish ambition that my wealth is all mine so forget the Lord’s tithe , my time is all mine so forget the Lord’s Sabbath. James 3:15-16 says this worldly wisdom is demonic, it causes disorder and every evil thing. Brothers and sisters, if you look at the world we live in today, the Biblical wisdom of Sabbath keeping a paying tithe is forgotten of Christians will say neither teaching is written in the New Testament, but if you want a Bible study on the subject ask me and I will make it happen. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you and so do I. Samuel H
