Isaiah 29:9-10 A Eternal High In The Spirit Of the Lord
My life before Christ, was always looking for a way to get high. Marijuara, LSD, & any kind of alcoholic beverage. Once I was offered cocaine, but I wasn’t brave enough to try it. But the High I get now living the presence of God my Creator, never comes down & the side effects are not harmful. I still have friends who get drunk & smoke pot, they ask me if I think it’s okay, since marijuara is a natural plant & grows like wildflowers. My thoughts are this, drugs & alcohol are a way for people to escape the troubles of the world, or simply relax. Maybe or maybe I support marijuare or having a beer once & awhile, but giving the Lord your concerns & resting in Him is way better.
Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
But a lot of people who read scripture say, where God put green plants in the Garden of Eden to consume, therefore, it must be good.
If you were students of the word of God, you would know, Adam & Eve, had no stress or worries in the Garden of Eden. So when they ate any green plant, it was in the form of a salad to feed their hungry stomach, not a release from a hard day’s work, hard labor didn’t come until after Adam & Eve disobey God.
So does a son or daughter of the God most High need drugs or alcohol, as escape the stress of daily life? Maybe you should study God’s word & learn for yourself. But the Lord gives pastors & teachers like myself to tell you what God’s says about matters like this & many others. Plenty of Bible passages say alcohol can cause trouble & a couple say it can be a benefit. Both Alcohol & drugs can make your mind think and do crazy things & be more open to sin.
