Galatians 5:22 The Fruit Of The Spirit Is Faithfulness

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Faithfulness is a nice word that means trust when two people are in a relationship, Faithfulness is also what the Lord wants from me & you. Scripture tells me and you,  faithfulness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. The word faithfulness is written in Scripture 41 times, but it’s a short form of the word faith which is Scripture 378 times. So faith must be very important in a relationship with the Lord. The short way of saying what faithfulness is a promise to keep your word, or be loyal as in a marriage a vow. Scripture tells us no one has faithfulness like the Lord & He will have faithfulness forever;

Psalm 100:5 For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.

So how does a human being who by nature has sin in his or her heart which sets them away from God, develop faithfulness to keep a promise to God and loyal to Him alone? The Scripture gives a Biblical definition of faith;

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Martin Luther King Jr says faith is like taking my first step on a flight of stairs and not seeing them and having the hope the staircase will appear under my feet. Scripture kind of says hope builds faith, If I put hope in the Lord & trust He do as His word says & it happens, then my faithfulness increases. Scripture tells the reader that God told Abraham something something he could never believe would happen, put a newborn life into dead womb of his 90 year old wife, all those years they been husband and wife, they never had a child, but God said you will have son from your 90 year old wife, but Abraham trust God & had hope in God’s word. Abraham put his faith into God’s word & with patience  watched his wife’s dead womb to see it look she ate a watermelon. At the age of 100 his wife’s dead womb had a little heart beating, God’s word came to life and Abraham faithfulness increased. Let me ask you something, does your faith seem dead as Abraham’s elder wife womb. You need to do like Abraham, put your hope in God’s word, which places  life in the beginning of creation into empty, formless space. God spoke into Sarah’s dead womb & life began. I bet when Sarah gave birth to her son and held  his newborn body in her hold 100 year hands, her faith was nothing like any person a part of the Lord could ever know. Ask the Lord to give you His Holy Spirit, submit to His word and by hope  your faithfulness increases more and more. Dear Heavenly Father, put new life in those dead spiritual minds or people who have not faithfulness in Your promising word. Don’t let them or myself count on us to fulfill Your promises, I don’t play God and I hope they don’t play God, cause I bet we would do a very bad job, loving those who hate me, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
