Exodus 20:12 By Honoring Parents, Love is Learned At Home
Love is taught at home, but a child is born wanting love, and a good mother and father is eagerly ready to give their son or daughter unconditional love. Not many people know that the commandments of God are divided into two parts, not just two tablets but as to who the laws were directed to. Commandments one to four are the followers of honor and relationship with the Lord. The last six commandments are the children of God, relationship with each other or how humanity treats each other. I used to work at Christian troubled teenage boys school/group home for a couple years, and it taught me a lot. Majority of boys came from wealthy parents and the way they show their sons love is by buying them whatever they want. I see them show off their new Jordan shoe, fossil watches and they would talk about how they had the latest video game system. The boys were like animals in a park, the park ranger will post signs, saying don’t feed the animals. The main reason is because the wildlife will want more food and not leave the feeder. Children who get whatever he or she wants, only understand love by that method. Another thing I also notice from the boys, they learn to behave around the staff I worked with, but when the parents visit with shopping bags full of nice name brand clothes their boys would totally misbehave and the parent would want to know what is wrong with my boy. Children want direction, cause they are born with no knowledge, as what is right or what is wrong. The Lord wants parents to give love to their children and direction, and children when age, their son or daughter can relate to the world outside the family home. But if a child sees, he or she gets whatever they want, the thought enters their mind, I run this household, so I deserve all the honor. The fifth commandment is unlike the first four, it comes with a promise.
The Lord the giver and taker of life, tells children honor your parents and long life on earth is promise, but death can from any direction. If a child is kinda spoiled and is treating people with the same disrespect they show mom and dad, someone could be really angry and harm that individual, they could die. Many people have that the Bible says if you don’t spare the rod, the child will live, otherwise if a child grows without any correction, their life will be a total loss and the parents look foolish also. The wise man King Solomon’s words kinda wrote the phrase of spare the rod and not the child,Proverbs chapter 11-19 is full words telling parents, PLEASE CORRECT YOUR CHILDREN OR ELSE THEY WILL SUFFER!! The Spirit of God even directs King Solomon to write that a child who mistreats his or her parents is scoffer and that fool deserves a beating, maybe that is how a disobedient child meets their doom.
Proverbs 19:26 He who mistreats his father and chases away his mother Is a son who causes shame and brings reproach. 27 Cease listening to instruction, my son, And you will stray from the words of knowledge. 28 A disreputable witness scorns justice, And the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity. 29 Judgments are prepared for scoffers, And beatings for the backs of fools.
The Ten Commandments of God are holy and good, all of God’s gives benefits to a personal spiritual, mental, physical social life. So there is a reason the Lord wants the young children of parents to show honor, a loving lifestyle that starts at home and is shown to all humanity. A person with life like that doesn’t people of any race have supremacy or who lives only matters, the Lord says to treat each person like they are your mom and dad. God bless you all, the Lord loves you and so do I. Samuel H.
