Exodus 14:14 The Lord Is Your Warrior
The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
My daddy taught me a lot of valuable lessons, always treat everyone equally, don’t hate anyone because if they look different, that would relate to gender, race or even how they live. He told me don’t use hateful insulting words and name calling is too pleasant. I was never really a violent guy, most fights I was involved in, I either lost or just fought dirty. Still yet I had a short temper and would react in a very horrible manner if I was extremely upset. I love to go to the movies, even nowadays with movies being able to be seen at home, I historical , sci-fi, action, thrillers, suspense. Family, comedy and Christian movies. One evening I went to see the movie, “ Glory’‘. It is a 1989 movie about the United States Civil War. It is about the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, who one of the first African American men were allowed to serve in the United States military. Most the African American soldiers were runaway slaves, most wanted revenge on their for slavery, or help set free other and all together end slavery. One thing is for sure, they all fought on the same side, they white generals, captains, lieutenants and drill sergeants to help them become an army of one, with the main goal was, give me liberty and freedom even if it cost me death. In the beginning the US army didn’t want men to do much combat, just do simple military jobs, like what we call in the Boy Scouts KP, kitchen patrol. But the 54th Massachusett didn’t want that, they said they were trained to fight and said let us go fight for freedom, and after asking over and over, they gave combat missions. On July 18, 1863, they were given orders to attack a confederate beach fort named Fort Wagner. The number of soldiers in all was 600, but after the battle 270 were killed. When the movie was over, I left the theater and began walking home. In the middle of the parking lot , a group of young African American boys walked up to me and surrounded me. One of the guys said “ What’s up,? I said nothing. I just watched a movie. He said great and then punched me in my face, I wasn’t too surprised, I thought trouble was going to happen, so I did nothing and kept walking, cause I thought if I strike back the whole group would beat me As I kept walking, my face stringing, a younger boy came to me and ask me if was okay, and said I was fine cause the guy hits like a girl. When I got home, I went past my dad and later to bed, I never told anyone this happened. The real battle we live in is with this evil world and with the devil and against those who want to live like the devil. No matter how much military training we have or how much weapons or ammunition we have none of that will defeat Satan. The best thing you and I can do is fully submit to God, pray to Him and allow Him to fight your battles and be ready to celebrate victory and freedom, in Jesus name. God bless you all, Jesus loves you and so do I, Samuel H
