Acts 16:16-18 OMG, Releasing In Jesus’ Name
Saying oh my God, seems normal now and for a long time even among non-believers of God. People oh my God or just say, Go, well He made us and when life has extreme moments, the name God comes out our mouth. The young lady in Acts 16, had a gift from the devil, she foretold people’s futures, or told who was whos soulmate or if their job was going to work or even if their kids would grow old and be happy. The young lady wasn’t working for herself, even though she was subject to being a slave and used her gift to gain income for him and her. The girl, even with Satan’s gift, recognizes God at work, following Paul and watching miracle after miracle and she begins to taunt him. Paul was trying to turn the other cheek and ignore the girl, but even a man of God has limits. With the name and the power of Jesus Christ name, he told the evil spirit within the slave girl to leave her body. At that moment she lost her gift and there she was no longer useless for her master and he himself an OMG moment and had Paul and his friend arrested, beaten, and locked away. Paul and Silas praise the name of God and sing to Him even while they were locked up and behind bars. The Lord heard wonderful songs of praise and used His mighty power to shake the earth, make the jail cell doors open and then Paul, Silas, and every prisoner’s chains loosen and fall off their wrist. The Prison guard’s OMG moment made him want to kill himself, but Paul told him to please not to do that. The Roman, ask Paul how he was saved and Paul told him, make the Lord’s name more personal and believe in it, you and your whole household will be saved. Some people use God’s name in vain, some casually or just randomly, some on purpose, some in foul ways and some for a holy purpose. When Jesus sees and hears me and you, use His name out of love, He will save you from dark demons and give you everlasting joy in His name. God bless you all, Jesus loves you and so do I, Samuel J H.
