Acts 11:27-30 Christian Charity
Acts 11:27-30
The Word of God tells us that the Lord wants His church to take care of its body, meaning it’s members & the community. Like the Spirit has given the church, in Acts 11, a famine or lack of food was coming soon. So the church leaders declared it was gonna prepare itself, to take care of it’s people & also the surrounding community. I remember not long after I had joined the church, Satan had declared war on me, my car broke down, I lost my job, I couldn’t find a job & my unemployment ran out. My church took care of me & when I got a job again, I would help my church take care of someone else. Many people say that God helps those who help themselves, that statement is nowhere written in Scripture. The Old Testament & New Testament tells church to help others;
Deuteronomy 15:11 For the poor will never cease to be in the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall freely open your hand to your brother, to your needy and poor in your land.’
James 2:14 What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, 17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.
God will bless those who help not all the time with money but we will receive a blessing.The Church has millions of charities all over the world & Christian Americans run more charities & give more, then any nation in the world . The government body or kings or emperor did nothing to help the less fortunate in Biblical times, only the church & God’s people help the community, that is a reason, the tithe @ offerings, to help the church ?? preach the message of Jesus, to show love to all, please do your part to be hands and feet, of the church. God bless you all, devotional sent by Sam H.
Matthew 25:45 Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’
