James 3:1-2 My Testimony, I Stumble

James 3:1-2

1 Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2 Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.

At Christmas time in 2001 I was driving by a church near my new house and pulled in to ask if I could attend the church service and they gladly said yes, please join us. When I invited the New Years Eve social, the church went around the room and asked everyone to give their new year’s , and when my time came I told my new church family, I wanna get baptized in 2002, and I hear a lot of, “Amen.” Sure enough I was baptized the summer of 2002, and maybe six or 8 months later, I found myself, teaching a small group Bible study on the topic of the ten commandments. It wasn’t long I was teaching Sabbath School, and I was amazed that my church member would listen to me and even when Pastor Davis said I did a good job, and taught stuff and in a way he never thought of. In 2008 I found myself at a very demanding job at a troubled teen group home in Tennessee. The job required long hours and hardly any Bible time, and one day I discovered a service called, Daily Bible and I could receive either by email or text message, so I selected both. When I received my daily Bible text, I decided to forward it to the contacts in my cell phone and I got different kinds of response, some like and some didn’t. I was a witness on a Social Media site in 2007 like Myspace or Mocospace, but really took off in 2010, when I got up very late at night just to teach God’s word to people all over the word. Around 2010-2011, I took my daily Bible text and changed it to daily Bible devotionals, and many enjoyed them. Already that time I told my doctor I heard voices and she put on an injection and not long after that I could no longer  write any commentary to explain the Bible. I  wonder to myself, how come I write and commentary from my daily Bible devotional any more. Most of the people who I text, act cke it was nothing but was glad I continued to keep sending scripture, even if I didn’t explain the Bible passage. Last year a friend of my Dr Williams, said Sam, you don’t need that injection, I don’t think you have schizophrenia, so I asked my doctor to stop giving me the medicine and I was long, I heard the voice again,  I had let the doctor’s medicine block out. Ever since then I have been able to add commentary to God’s word again. The way I send Daily Bible Devotionals has changed since 2008, either by text messages still, or my email and I also share on several different social media sites. I even  built my own website, to increase the people I reach worldwide, even to countries like China where Christianity is illegal. I have been asked many times, am I pastor or preacher, and I will reply no, I’m not. In 2010 a young lady from Asian country called me and back then that caller was making a long distance from the Philippines. The lady on the other end told me, she wanted to thank me for teaching God’s word to her and it meant a lot to her. I said thank you sister, and I wish I could remember her name but I can’t. I just want to tell everyone, who receives my daily Bible devotionals, that don’t look to me for James 3:2 say if I or someone else teaches God’s world, we might be seen as perfect. But my family and church family and my social media followers will tell you, I do not have perfection. I gave my website the Bible verse 1 Samuel 1:20, and it simply means, God hears my voice or Jehovah answers my prayer.

1 Samuel 1:20  and it cometh to pass, at the revolution of the days, that Hannah conceiveth, and beareth a son, and calleth his name Samuel, `for, from Jehovah I have asked him.’

Now I never claim to hear God’s voice or to be a prophet like the Hannah’s son Samuel, but it is the only reason I can do what I do, cause I just don’t know how I can do what I can do without Jehovah whispering to me, hey Samuel, teach My word to your brothers and sisters this way. I enjoy what I do, and I like it when I get Amen, or good feedback. But I really don’t do it for those who receive my daily devotion, I do it to keep myself in God’s word and get my daily bread. But I like it that  I have a dear sister named Ritika Rasal, who lives in India. She tells me enjoys my Bible teaching blogs and I enjoy her blogs as well. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you and so do I. Samuel H

1 Samuel 3:10  Then the Lord came and stood, and called as at the other times: “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel said, “Speak, for Your servant is listening.” 11 Then the Lord said to Samuel, “Behold, I am going to do a thing in Israel, and both ears of everyone who hears about it will ring.
