2 Chronicles 6:34 

“When Your people go out to battle against their enemies, by whatever way You shall send them, and they pray to You toward this city which You have chosen and the house which I have built for Your name,

President Abraham Lincoln had won reelection in 1864. to the US but his Presidency had many issues. Lincoln was still mourning the death of his son and his wife had emotional struggles. President  Lincoln went against the majority of the country who was happy to let the Confederacy remain its own country, but President Lincoln said he wanted to keep the United States as one country. At President Lincoln’s second inauguration he gave an address that is very well remembered. I will make it short, but he said, “Both sides read the same Bible and pray to the same God, and each invokes His aid against the other, the prayers of both could not be answered. The Almighty has His own purposes.” Abraham Lincoln was a religious man & he knew about the power of prayer. He had a strong belief in God. He is quoted as he remembered his mother’s prayers and they always followed him, he clung to them all his life. The word of God speaks of prayer as a weapon.

 2 Chronicles 6:34  “When Your people go out to battle against their enemies, by whatever way You shall send them, and they pray to You toward this city which You have chosen and the house which I have built for Your name, 35 then hear from heaven their prayer and their supplication and maintain their cause.

My church used to have a VFW and there is a little plaque on the wall that says   “Praise the Lord & pass the ammunition.” Soldiers in battle depend on ammunition and if they run out, they have no way to fight or defend themselves. With prayer as a weapon for Christians. It’s the ammunition of prayer that can penetrate any military armor. The Lord God answered the desperate prayers of President Abraham Lincoln and the USA became one nation again & slavery was put to an end On April 9, 1865. On April 14, 1865, an actor named John Wilkes Booth full of hate for President Lincoln assassinated him. The works of President Abraham did are not forgotten and he is regarded as the greatest President of US history. President Lincoln’s Bible was used to swear in two US Presidents Barack Obama and  Donald Trump and his Bible are the Liberty of Congress. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you and so do I.
