Ezekiel 22:30 Intercession, Standing In the Gap
The Lord is not happy with the condition of His children to live. He provides them with words that lead to happiness & harmony. It may not be an accident that the Lord led me to this scripture, where God is if anyone will stand between His salvation & the death that comes from doing what is right in our own eyes. Ezekiel 22 headlining is titled The Sins of Israel, & it has a list of a bunch of no-no’s. The word of God has different ways of saying identifying disobedience; sin, abominations, uncleanness, & transgression. The Lord hates sins, but loves the sinners, kinda odd isn’t it. If a person offended one of us, we are ready to write them off & remove them from our lives. If we who call ourselves servants of the Lord, should reach out to those He loves also. My love for Him should be just as great for all of His creation, Moses the great prophet had such love, not really caring for him, interceding on all of Israel, once reminding the Lord’s promise to Abraham, ( Exodus 32:9-14 ) please Lord save them & let me take my place in your favor & let me have their punishment .
Exodus 32:31 Then Moses returned to the Lord, and said, “Alas, these people have committed a great sin, and they have made a god of gold for themselves. 32 But now, if You will, forgive their sin—and if not, please blot me out from Your book which You have written!”
Moses’ intercessory prayers were great for God’s people, but Moses had his faults, the Lord had a better one in store, it was His Son. The book of Hebrews says Jesus the highest priest of all priests, highest prophet of all prophets.
The isn’t asking for prophets, priests & His Son to intercede for the lost. As Christians, we say we serve the Lord & His teaching that led salvation. Young & old Christian alike want to share the good news & say I love in prayers asking Jesus please save my enemies, they hate me, but I know you love them.
Acts 7:59-60 They went on stoning Stephen as he called on the Lord and said, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!” 60 Then falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he fell asleep,
Stephen is the example we as Christian should live by, even if we are taking attacks from those who call us their enemies, we extend to them the love of Christ, Jesus told us to do this very thing in the Gospel & even said we would. The Lord loves the righteous and the wicked.
The reason the Lord needs us to intercede, we are in the middle of warfare that began in heaven, Satan was unhappy & wanted to take over God, but the Lord says that is big no-no.
Satan doesn’t care who he targets, Collateral damage means nothing to him. People who obey & the ones who don’t all suffer from his warfare. Is it more important for us to step up and pray for the lost. The Lord show concern for the lost & is sad , He calls out to the prophet Ezekiel, saying son of man please stand in the gap between for Me & pray for the lost. I know I will do my part, I hope you join me, God bless you all. The Lord Jesus loves you & so do I. Sam H.
