Matthew 5:9 Children of God are Peacemakers

Matthew 5:9

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

The congregation of people listening to Jesus preach on the sermon on the mount probably remember the prophecy Isaiah wrote predicting the birth of the Messiah & a few of the names the Son of God would be given . One of the famous one’s we hear about Christmas time is Prince of Peace;

Isaiah 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Jesus is the opposite of Satan, the devil is the father of lie, bitterness, murder & war. So it should have not been a strange message to the followers of Christ to hear, blessed are the peacemakers & you will be children of God. But most of Jews at that time felt oppressed by the governing power of the Roman Empire, & many of them wanted their freedom. Satan wanted freedom from the Lord God & thought within his heart he could do a better job. So Satan started a war in heaven & he lost, he & his followers of angels were thrown out of heaven.

Revelation 12:7 And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, 9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

So if any person, who has a spirit of wars is a child of Satan, & a child of God is a peacemaker. Jesus doesn’t want warmongers following Him, He wants lost souls to be told He loves them & wants to give him or her the freedom away from sin, which i world’s old & first form oppression & slavery. The way to win lost souls, is to show them peace so they can ease the raging storm within themselves. These lost souls can’t really see God, cause His invisible to them, but we as Jesus followers, call ourselves Christians. Christian should not be fast to react, with anger or to violence & that was my problem with some Christian. They were so eager to defend themselves & have a fight or swear at me, but when I met real Christians, they were slow to speech & anger.

James 1:19 This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;20 for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.

If you are a peacemaker, the Lord’s peaceful love is your defense weapon & shield against Satan’s warfare. A peacemaker is a prayer warrior & never stops asking the Holy Spirit to pierce the hard heart of a lost soul & give them comfort. A peacemaker doesn’t return evil for evil, but returns evil with love. A peacemaker doesn’t respond to acts of violence with chaos or revenge, cause the Lord is not the God of chaos or confusion, but His the God of order. My dear brothers & sisters, a child of Satan never has a heart of peace, cause Satan is fighting a battle he can’t win. He knows God’s word better than you, he has read the Lord’s battle plan & he knows ultimately he will die, he just wants to take as many as God created children with him to death. That is how evil he is, he doesn’t care for you, he just wants to use you, to break His heart. Don’t be on the losing side of Satan, be a peacemaker & be sons & daughter of the Living God, & have victory in Jesus. The Lord Jesus loves you & so do I. Sam H.
