Matthew 5:8 To See God,Is To Have a Pure Heart

Matthew 5:8

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

I am thankful that I am not a pastor, like some have me if I am. Cause I have been to many funerals and at most of them, & most times I have heard the speaker say the recently  deceased is a better place or heaven. The only time i went to a funeral & the speaker didn’t say that, is when my cousin had committed suicide, he only said, we don’t where Johnny is now, only God can judge who goes to heaven or hell. That was probably the most honest funeral service I went to. Even if we as Christian can know someone by the fruits they bear, only God can see a person’s heart, a person can look at an individual and totally get the person’s character wrong. The prophet Samuel was mislead by the outward appearance of Jesse’s son, when the Lord sent Samuel, to anoint a new king of Israel; and he was finally told my God’s Spirit to anoint the young shepherd boy David.

1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Samuel was guilty of judging a person by his or her appearance, but the Lord knew David’s heart, & heard the young shepherd boy, sing his beautiful songs of worship, that he would later write in the book of Psalm. David’s Psalm lyric even ask God to give him a pure clean hear;

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

It is highly impossible for me and you to have a pure heart, without being in a submissive relationship with the Lord. We are born with a self loving heart, to love others might be okay, cause how they treat us or if we find their appearance attractive. But to love an invisible God is difficult to do. A pure heart mean you love God with all your heart soul;

Deuteronomy 11:13 “It shall come about, if you listen obediently to my commandments which I am commanding you today, to love the Lord your God and to serve Him with all your heart and all your soul,

As I was preparing myself, in prayer & asking God & others, how can someone have the pure heart of Jesus. It is just as difficult to keep God’s ten commandments. Only a love for God can help us to do & have both. A Christian is always growing in his/her love for the Lord, & learning to be obedient is also a lifelong growing process. A pure heart needs a relationship with the Lord so that a sinner’s heart will have less love for self & more love for God & have His pure heart. On the Sabbath day of worship, which helps a person spend a whole day God & build a relationship with Him, the fake religious leaders said Jesus was breaking the fourth commandment by healing. Jesus looked at the fake religious leader & told them to stop arguing & not to have hard hearts;(Mark 3:1-6). Both a pure heart & commandment keeping was seen in Jesus healing on the Sabbath day. Jesus told the congregation at the sermon on the mount, you are blessed if you have pure heart & it is only with a pure heart you will see God. So if you want a pure heart the first step is to give the Lord your heart, many scriptures support back this statement up. God bless you all, the Lord loves you & so do I. Sam H.

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
