Matthew 5:7 The Lord is Merciful, He Wants You to Be Merciful Also

Matthew 5:7

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

When Jesus delivers the sermon on the mount to all of His followers then to those who read His words now, learn something that the world doesn’t teach. Don’t give as you or I receive, but show mercy, even to those who don’t deceive it. The Holy Scriptures is full of God’s loving mercy and not given to those who disobey His word. You and I can read Scripture from Genesis to Revelation & we see the Lord act of mercy all the way through God’s word. Jesus says in the fifth beatitude is mercy, but it is not different from the rest of the characteristics of the Lord. He wants you to bless others with mercy, the same way He blesses you.

Psalm 145:8 The Lord is gracious and merciful; Slow to anger and great in lovingkindness.9 The Lord is good to all,And His mercies are over all His works.

If the Lord shows mercy to all, who are His followers to show mercy to and who are we not? We are to deal with each other with mercy & if anyone is not merciful with us, the Lord God will remove that person’s blessing.

Genesis 12:3 And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

By being merciful we are blessed, to those we show mercy to can receive a blessing. That is a fulfillment of scripture when we show mercy to all;

James 2:8 If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.

But Jesus tells His followers of His beatitudes, practice what He preaches, if you show now mercy, you will get no mercy, your judgment from the Lord without mercy, you had a failure to bless others with. God bless you all, the Lord loves you and so do I. Sam H.
