Romans 7:6-8 Apart From Law Is Sin

Romans 7:6-8

6 But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter.7 What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? May it never be! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.” 8 But sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind; for apart from the Law sin is dead.

The Israelite of the Old Testament had a hard time keeping the Law, & just like now, Christians still have difficulty, measuring up to the standard that are the ten commandments. In (Exodus 20:18-21) the Israelite were fearful after they heard the voice of God, as He gave them the Commandments one after one, they ever asked Moses to speak to themselves & tell the Lord to be silent. They knew within themselves they could not keep God’s Law & if you follow their story, only a few of them made it into the Promised Land. Paul who wrote (Romans 7:6-8)says the Law of God is Spirit, just like God is Spirit & it is impossible for sinful flesh to obey something it cannot understand. The definition of sin is breaking the Law,

The Law teaches us want sin is, as in Paul said he didn’t know it was a sin to covet, if the Law said it wasn’t disobedience of the tenth Commandment. I gave myself to the Lord in 2002 & before that time, i didn’t care if i broke God’s Law, I really didn’t care if i kept man’s law, as long as i didn’t get caught, but the because the Love i had in my new Spiritual Life, it hurt me to hurt God & be disobedient to His Word, even i had not read the whole Bible, I knew enough, that my actions had disappointed the Lord. If it is one of the ten commandments to honor my father & mother, shouldn’t I honor my heavenly Father, by keeping His words . I remember how it felt when I thought my mother & father didn’t love me anymore cause I had misbehaved. The same commandment that says if i honor my father & mother, promises me a long life if I honor them & the Lord God promises me & you the long life, not if you obey His Word, & the only way to do that, is by surrendering yourself to His Holy Spirit. Dearly Beloved, don’t allow yourself to struggle trying to earn your way into the Kingdom of God, but allow God’s grace to transform you into the child of God He wants you to be.
