Romans 1:18-19 To Protect and Serve

Romans 1: 18-19

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.

The word wrath appears in God’s word about 178 times, at least in the New American Standard translation I read, in the famous King James Version 197 times, and in the New International Version about 181 times. A Christian should know why the Holy Bible talks about God’s wrath. An agnostic might wonder why an atheist could not care less. If God is so loving and graceful, why does He have a day of wrath set aside? Of course, God is loving and merciful, and His compassion fails not, but His holy word says if you love Him, obey His commandments. The Holy Bible has the Old and New Testament, which is the Old and New Covenant, and no matter what a person believes, the covenants of the Old and New have the same standards. Believe the Lord is God, love Him, love others, obey His word, and He will be your God (Exodus 19:5 and Hebrews 13:20). To believe a person can love God and disobey Him is rather foolish. The Old Testament has a couple of examples of God’s wrath, and neither is a graceful event for those who receive it nor for those who witnessed it.  In Genesis 6:5 and chapters 18 and 19, God passes judgment and releases His wrath very biblically. But if you really read and study the Bible about these events, God saved humanity from inhumane ways. Take note of these passages.

Genesis 6:11 Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 And God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for humanity had corrupted its way upon the earth. 13 Then God said to Noah, “The end of humanity has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of people; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth.

Genesis 18:20 And the Lord said, “The outcry of Sodom and Gomorrah is indeed great, and their sin is exceedingly grave. 21 I will go down now and see whether they have done entirely as the outcry, which has come to Me, indicates, and if not, I will know.”

Of course, God is full of loving mercy, and His compassion never fails, but He will not allow pain and suffering to continue. He passes judgment and releases His wrath when time seems fit. When humanity no longer loves Him or each other, He cannot allow that to continue. He does not want to hurt anyone, but He also hates when the people He created are hurting each other (Proverbs 6:16). Hurting, suffering, and fearful people always cry out to God, especially when they feel death is near. This is why the famous phrases exist; there is no such thing as an atheist in foxholes or war zones. So, the most High-loving God has to do something as He did in Genesis 18:21. When He sees mankind as no longer Godly and wicked, all humans think about hurting each other, and they act upon it; no one is safe. No Christian is secure, nor will agnostic or atheist, so God’s wrath is needed. So prepare your hearts and pray for others because that time is coming soon, very soon. God bless you all; the Lord Jesus loves you, and so do I, His humble bondservant, Samuel Jerry Head.

Ezekiel 18:19 “Yet you say, ‘Why should the son not suffer the punishment for the father’s guilt?’ When the son has practiced justice and righteousness and has kept all My statutes and done them, he shall certainly live. 20 The person who sins will die. A son will not suffer the punishment for the father’s guilt, nor will a father suffer the punishment for the son’s guilt; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself. 21 “But if the wicked person turns from all his sins which he has committed and keeps all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall certainly live; he shall not die. 22 All his offenses which he has committed will not be remembered against him; because of his righteousness which he has practiced, he will live. 23 Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked,” declares the Lord God, “rather than that he would turn from his ways and live?
