Revelation 1:20

As for the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.  

“This Present Darkness” is a Christian fiction novel I have read and enjoyed. Inspired by the scripture Ephesians 6:12, the author Frank Peretti wrote the book. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Revelation 1:20 is like many parables Jesus told in the gospels. He explains what the short story he just told means. The kingdom of heaven on earth is like this. The stars in Christ’s right hand are priests like angelic beings are God’s messengers. The lamp stands are the churches, and Jesus the Lord is in their midst. The Lord sends angels many times to deliver a message. 

Daniel 10:13 But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia. 14 Now I am here to explain what will happen to your people in the future, for this vision concerns a time yet to come.”

Luke 1:19 The angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.

In the story of the Christian novel “This Present Darkness,” an evil dark force overtakes Ashton’s city. New Age beliefs are teaching people. They Don’t need God, and He is not real. The church and pastor of Ashton are no longer wanted. False rumors of sexual crimes are spreading about Pastor Hank, but he knows they are not valid. Angels and demons are in the city of Ashton. Their homes, schools, church, and even the jailhouse are full of demons and angels. All the good Christians of Ashton are listening to Pastor Hank’s preaching. They all pray that the Lord and His angels will help. In the end, truth wins because the darkness has no actual power. John was told by Jesus to send the letter of Revelation to seven churches. But the Lord wanted all His churches to hear the message. Other books of God’s word were meant for a group of chosen people, but the Lord’s intention was for all to hear the good news message. You and I can’t be lampstands if you don’t hear God’s message. You and I cannot be lights unto the world if we forsake the coming together of the saints. I have heard many foolish reasons not to attend church, but hardly any are valid in God’s eye. Neither of the seven lampstand churches of Revelation chapters 1, 2, and 3 was perfect, but Jesus told John to address each one. Each lampstand church had a pastor used by the Lord to deliver a message. The only ones who did not hear the message in the first century were not at church. So, the message from God was unheard by them, so they stayed in the dark. Now not all Christians who attend church are listening to the light of God’s word. But those who refuse to assemble with saints are most likely in the dark. Are you a light unto the world, brothers, and sisters, or is your assembly alone at home all by yourself?  God bless you all; the Lord Jesus the Bridegroom loves you, and so do I. Daniel 9:20 While I was still speaking and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my plea before the Lord my God in behalf of the holy mountain of my God, 21 while I was still speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering. 22 And he instructed me and talked with me and said, “Daniel, I have come now to give your insight with understanding. 23 At the beginning of your pleas the command was issued, and I have come to tell you, because you are highly esteemed; so, pay attention to the message and gain understanding of the vision.
