Galatians 3:1-5 Foolish Without Faith In Jesus
You are foolish if you believe in anything else rather than in the Lord Jesus, other teaching offers no salvation. Trying to have perfection will drive someone crazy. But the Lord Jesus, doesn’t want to ask us for greatness , He asks for my & your faith, a faith that let’s Him direct our lives. Martin Luther, the great reformer, was taught that he worked for his salvation, when he served a Roman Catholic Priest. When he visited Rome, he went to a set of stairs called the Scala Sancta, the holy stairs. These stairs are flights of stairs Jesus climbed to be judged by Pontius Pilate. When the early form the Catholic Church, by the Roman Emperor Constantine, his mother Helena,had the stairs moved from Jerusalem to Rome, so that they could be worshiped more than the Savior Jesus, who climbed them. When Catholic Christian visit Rome, they are supposed to climb the 28 stairs, on their knees, & even to this day, Catholic Christians are required to do this foolish act of meaningless worship. While Martin Luther was climbing up the flight of stairs on his knees, he thought he heard a voice, the voice he heard told him this, ‘‘The just shall live by faith,’ He was said to rise up in amazement from the steps and began to feel personal horror and shame. He – his legend says – proclaimed “The just shall live by faith!” The Holy Bible tells me & you it’s all about faith in the Lord. It is not by trying to keep the law, that brings salvation, it is impossible to obey the Lord, without faith. When we surrender our faith to Him, His Spirit led us to His holy law;
Psalm 119:30 I have chosen the faithful way; I have placed Your ordinances before me.
Those who try to please the Lord without faith, is a vain act, like the Roman Catholic Christians, who call themselves pilgrims when they are climbing stairs on their knees, to make honor to the passion of the Christ. When Luther made it to the top of the so-called holy stairs, he had doubts if the act would even please the Lord,he quoted, “Who knows whether this is true?” When Charles Dickens (the English writer) visited the stairs in 1845, he said this “I never, in my life, saw anything at once so ridiculous and so unpleasant as this sight.” He described the scene of pilgrims ascending the staircase on their knees as a “dangerous reliance on outward observances. Putting our faith in the Lord, help Him to teach us how to walk like the Lord;
Ezekiel 18:9 if he walks in My statutes and My ordinances so as to deal faithfully—he is righteous and will surely live,” declares the Lord God.
True miracles work happens, when a person is allowed by his or her faith to let the God’s Holy Spirit, make a true Christian be transformed into a person, that will obey the Lord, cause obedience come nature to those who truly love the Lord Jesus. God bless you all, the Lord Jesus loves you & so do I. Sam H.
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
