2 Corinthians 13:10-14 Building Up The Church

2 Corinthians 13:10-14

10 For this reason I am writing these things while absent, so that when present I need not use severity, in accordance with the authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.11 Finally, brethren, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. 12 Greet one another with a holy kiss. 13 All the saints greet you.14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

The New Testament Books of 1 & 2 Corinthians were letters Paul wrote the Christian churches of Corinth. Corinth was a Greek city that devoted itself to pleasure seeking & a very busy commercial city, with many customs, because people from all over the world visit there. Paul had a lot of love for the Christian churches of Corinth, more love than most Christian have any church today. Paul had clearly stated he was absent for the church attendance & he dearly wished he could worship together with his church family. Paul’s letters to the Corinthian church were written so Paul could build them up & not only them, but to you & me, who read the books of 1 & 2 Corinthians, cause we are part of the body of Christ, His church. In both books of 1 & Corinthians, Paul say you & i are weak, but strong in Christ;

1 Corinthians 4:10 We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are prudent in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are distinguished, but we are without honor.

2 Corinthians 13:9 For we rejoice when we ourselves are weak but you are strong; this we also pray for, that you be made complete.

Paul tells the body of Christ to live in peace, with the peace that only God can give;

1 Corinthians 14:33 for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

2 Corinthians 1:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul told the church to greet each other with a holy kiss, a embrace of family & fellowship, I have learned in my personal life, the Lord gives you family who love the Lord to replace blood brother & sister, who have more love for themselves, then the God who created them. People who have a relationship with Christ, really can’t get along with those who don’t, cause people in darkness don’t feel comfortable in the light of saints;

2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?

The apostle Paul loved the body of Christ, which is the Church, when he was in with the church, he said he was with them in his spirit;

1 Corinthians 5:3 For I, on my part, though absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present. 4 In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus,

1 Corinthians 16:23 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.24 My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
