John 2:1-5 Honoring Mother Mary?

John 2:1-5

1 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there; 2 and both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” 4 And Jesus said to her, “what business do you have with Me, woman? My hour has not yet come.” 5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He tells you, do it.”

Jesus said in the gospel, according to Matthew chapter 5 verse 17, do not think I have come to abolish the law but fulfill it. The Lord Jesus Christ kept the law and prophecy of God to every jot or tittle. What commandment is Jesus obeying here? It is fifth; “Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged on the land which the Lord your God gives you. Jesus’ mother, Mary, was her Son’s pride; like any parent with a wallet or cellphone full of photos of her children, she wanted others to know Jesus was her baby boy. In John chapter 2, the wedding feast is Jesus’ first miracle recorded in the gospels. Maybe Jesus had turned water into wine a few times around the table, and Mary wanted her Son to want the bride and groom to have a good time at their party. When Mary asked Jesus to turn the water into wine, He did not call her mother. Still, He said, “Woman,” In my household growing up, to call my mother a woman or by her name was disrespectful, during a dispute my uncle Ronnie Collins called my grandmother, said “Woman!” and my grandfather punched him. Afterward, my mother told me that is an example you are never too old to not honor your parents. Jesus had to remind His mother, your business was not His; even if He is her Son, He is the Son of Father God. Still, after Jesus said that He honored His mother’s wish, and in her heart, she knew He would. Many times, in God’s word, the Lord had to remind great people He is still God Almighty and their Maker. A Babylonian church (which is a church that teaches falsehood) and her followers honor Mary as a deity even lift up prayers to her. That was not a part of Christianity until pagan traditions became a part of church worship. It is never wrong to honor your mother and father, it is never wrong to honor others, but it is wrong to make anyone, mother, father, sibling, or children above your Heavenly Father God.
