2 Corinthians 3:7-11 God’s Glory In His New Covenant
2 Corinthians 3:7-11
Hebrews 11 calls Moses on the champions of faith, & rightly so. Moses had absorbed God’s glory without knowing while the Lord God wrote the Laws of the Old Covenant with His holy finger to the two tablets of stone. When Moses was walking down Mount Sinai, he didn’t know that his skin was shining, only until he was until he saw the fear in the Israelites’ eyes after he told them laws the Lord told them to obey. Moses is seen as somewhat of a Jesus of the Old Testament, he was a instrument of God to free, God’s people for slavery, the bondage phyical suffering. Jesus came to save God’s people from the slavery of sin, a New Covenant of Spirit freedom. But the people of Israel never called the Laws of Covenant, God’s Law, they called them the Laws of Moses. They worshiper Moses more than God, & it was very easy to see, cause everything was okay with Israel, until Moses left them to go receive the Law from God, of the covenant. In Moses’ absence, they made a golden calf, to worship, something they learned to do, while they were slaves in Egypt, so they were slaves to the old life they left behind. Moses was a very meek & humble man, he never saw himself as a god & he never asked to be worship, he never called God’s Law his, he didn’t even know that his skin was shining, just like any normal humble person don’t know God has changed his or her life, until someone else tell them. That is one reason the Old Covenant didn’t work. Israel was trying to live like man, & not like God. When Moses saw the Israelite disobeying God’s Law, they threw them down & broke them in many pieces. When the Lord sees us break a commandment He says forgive them, for they know, not what they do.
Luke 23:34 But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.
When Moses saw the people couldn’t God’s Law, he became angry & destroyed that tablet of stone, maybe he thought it was too difficult for them to keep. When the Lord Jesus sees it difficult for us to keep God’s Law, He lives them out & obeys Himself, His glory was not seen by His faces shining God’s glory. His lifestyle & obedience to God’s Law, made God His Father glory shine from the inside out.
John 8:54 Jesus answered, “If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God’;
The promised land can not be entered in, by following Moses,& even Moses was not allowed to enter into promised land, it can only be gained, by following God’s only Son Jesus who obey His Father.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
Moses can’t forgive anyone when he or she break any of the commandments of the covenant, like this;
Exodus 20:15 “You shall not steal.
But Jesus will forgive someone who steals, if the thief recognizes he is under the condemnation of the old covenant. But the thief knows in his heart of flesh, Jesus is the Lamb of God & God’s Son the Christ & to be remembered, as if being remembered for having a life or ever existing is enough. But Jesus tells the thief He will be more than remembered in God’s kingdom, he will be in God’s glory in God’s paradise.
Luke 23:42 And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!” 43 And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”
Dear brothers & sister, by accepting the New Covenant paid for by Jesus innocent blood, is the only way to the promised land (Paradise). Hebrews 11, the chapter that talks about all the champions of faith, who had faith in God, did not receive or inherit promised land they seen from afar, Hebrews 11, say they all die one way or another, without receiving the promise but they will, so can me & you, cause God provided a better covenant perfect promise to all who have faith & trust if God’s glory. Amen.
Hebrews 11:39 And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised,40 because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect.
