1 Corinthians 14:37-40 Recognize By God’s Commandments

1 Corinthians 14:37

37 If anyone thinks he is a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize that the things which I write to you are the Lord’s commandment.³⁷ If anyone thinks he is a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize that the things which I write to you are the Lord’s commandment. ³⁸ But if anyone does not recognize this, he is not recognized.³⁹ Therefore, my brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues. ⁴⁰ But all things must be done properly and in an orderly manner.

For a while now, I have been teaching about the Spiritual Gifts of the Holy Spirit, Cause it most because of the pattern i chose to teach the word of God from. Most of 1 Corinthians 14, is about the Gift of Tongues, it talks about Prophecy & Interpretation also. But at the end of Chapter 14, it tells the church, plus me & you, how to tell if a person using the Spiritual Gift is real or false. The apostle Paul tells his fellow church members, if a person who is using Spiritual Gifts, doesn’t keep things Paul writes about which are from the Ten Commandments of God, then that person is not recognized by the Lord. All the prophecy they speak of, all the tongues they say, all the teachings or even healing they do,is empty &  meaningless if they are a person who breaks God’s holy law. Just like Jesus says everyone is known by the fruit he or she bears, if a person bears good fruit they are acceptable, but if a person bears bad fruit, they are not acceptable & the kingdom of God, will not be theirs.

Matthew 7:19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will know them by their fruits.21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.

Anyone that stands up in a church & is using Spiritual Gifts, are supposed to know what they are doing & have 100 percent % faith in the Lord. Just like a teacher or college professor, is educated & learns about a subject or field they teach others to learn & practice. A member of the church should know the gospel, if he or she is gonna teach it & help edify the Lord’s church.  Just like a lot of churches say the commandments of God are no longer supposed to be obeyed or the Jesus death on the cross done away with God’s law, the teaching of Jesus tells the church, the Law which is the 10 Commandments will never pass away, along there is heaven & earth. He also said if anyone teaches that they are anyone that teaches they are not any good any more, that person will be least looked upon, or as this scriptures says, not recognized by God.

Matthew 5:17“Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

I remember watching a tv show that would follow a police car from a distance, the show had a camera & a radar gun pointed at the police car. The radar would clearly show the police was driving way over the speed limit . When the tv host would confront the police officer, he or she would shake their shoulders & say whatever. The Christians of the world & even the non-believers hated it when, someone of a authority, tells other to disobeys a law they are supposed to teach to obey & even point fingers if you, slightly disobey or if someone’s feelings are hurt, or any abuse happens, the whole church looks bad. The Holy Word calls believers who don’t practice what they preach, hypocrites. If someone is speaking prophecy or speaking unknown tongues or language, & if they do not represent the truth of God’s Word, that person wants glory for himself or herself, they don’t deserve any recognition from the Lord or His church. Dear brothers & sisters, study the 10 Commandments & All of God’s Word, if a person or a church is using Spiritual Gifts, & they are disobedient to the Word they are suppose to keep & have knowledge of, that person is a false prophet, then turn from them & never listen false teaching again, but pray for them to truth of God’s Word. Most likely someone is believing what they are teaching.
