2 Corinthians 6:1-10 Being A Christian, Isn’t For Sissies

2 Corinthians 6:1-10

1 And working together with Him, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain— 2 for He says,“At the acceptable time I listened to you,And on the day of salvation I helped you.”Behold, now is “the acceptable time,” behold, now is “the day of salvation”— 3 giving no cause for offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited, 4 but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses, 5 in beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in hunger,6 in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love, 7 in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left, 8 by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; regarded as deceivers and yet true; 9 as unknown yet well-known, as dying yet behold, we live; as punished yet not put to death, 10 as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing yet possessing all things.

The singer/songwriter Johnny Cash, said this “Being a Christian isn’t for sissies, it takes a real man to live for God – a lot more man than to live for the devil.’ The Holy Bible says the same thing, we Christian are not supposed to take the grace of God in vain. Some people think being  a Christian, is attending church once a week, say a blessing before each meal & maybe give up swearing, but when Christians start sharing his or her how the Lord’s grace has changed them & His grace can change them. The devil will make that person suffer. This is full of people of God suffering for the Lord’s work, & using His word as a sword, when we do suffer or are being punished, the Lord will expose those who make us suffer & show them that they are truly the evil ones. Such a story of a man suffering, for doing God’s work is from; ( Jeremiah 38:6-13), the prophet Jeremiah was sent by God to deliver a message, listen to God & live, if not death is your’s. The people Jeremiah was preaching to, didn’t like what they heard, so they put him in a muddy pit. He was knee in nothing but mud,no solid ground to stand or any comfortable place to sit down, & the evil people wanted Jeremiah to die there. But God sent people to rescue & pull Jeremiah  out of the muddy pit. Being removed from the muddy pit didn’t stop Jeremiah from delivering the message God had sent him to do, because a man of God know’s nothing will stop God’s word from being carried out. The evil people who refuse to listen to God’s messengers, & make them suffer or persecute them, will learn that they were the ones who are truly evil. The Bible says on the day of judgment, that those who persecute for sharing God’s word will be rewarded.

Revelation 20:4 Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

The Holy Bible doesn’t paint a pretty, cute cookie cutter world, for those who are true Christians. The world will hate them, like it hated Jesus, cause His words made them look guilty & no one wants to be guilty, they rather do away with delivery of messages. If Jesus was killed if doing His Father’s work, me & you shouldn’t expect anything else. Being a Christian isn’t for sissies, being a Christian is a person who isn’t afraid to suffer or even die, to share the Lord’s gospel. God bless you all, the Lord loves you & so do I. Prepare your hearts.

2 Timothy 1:8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God,9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,
