1 Corinthians 4:19-21 Arrogance or Humility
1 Corinthians 4:19-21
19 But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I shall find out, not the words of those who are arrogant but their power. 20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power. 21 What do you desire? Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love and a spirit of gentleness?
I have noticed that sometimes in my personal relationship with the Lord , I can become arrogant & full of pride. Cause I study the scriptures & I attend church, & get confident that the kingdom of heaven is a guarantee for me. But when I become an Arrogant Christian, my walk with the Lord becomes with Him behind me, & I take personal credit for the miracles & changes in my life. But I have forgotten what led me to give myself to the Lord, my spirit was poor, & broken & He saw I was lost & saved me.
Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed inspirit.
But when I become arrogant, I don’t accept other people’s brokenness, I want them to live like me & the Bible I read & study. I have forgotten, had taken me at my weak & helpless state of living & cried out, Lord help me.
Church should be a place for humble & brokenhearted people, who want to get saved. If the church is full of prideful arrogant people, visitors will believe he or she needs to wear their very best clothes. But greatness does not come from what a person wears, Jesus tells His followers that John the Baptist was the greater than anyone born from a woman, & John the Baptist only wore camel’s hair;
Matthew 11:11 Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist! Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Me & you must not show arrogance & pride to win souls God’s kingdom, we must show the Lord’s meekness & humility , cause showing love is better than passing judgement. There is an old quote , we can get further with honey, rather than vinegar . Be a humble Christian & let the lost people taste pure word of God, that scripture, says His word taste like honey;
Psalm 119:103 How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Let me & you, share the sweet honey taste of God’s amazing love & the His church will be full of people who were once broken hearted & but have been made whole & call us sons & daughters. God bless you all, Happy Sabbath & love you, the Lord loves you also. Sam H.
Matthew 5:5 “Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
