1 Corinthians 4:14-16 Be Ye Reformed Still
Michael King was a Baptist minister with a loving wife and son. A pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1934, he traveled to Berlin, Germany for meetings with the Baptist World Alliance. There, he saw the rise of the Nazi party and the hate it showed Jews and anyone who did not look, German. As a Baptist pastor, Michael King knew who Martin Luther was very well. So inspired by the reformer Luther’s work, he changed his name and his son’s name to Martin. Henceforth his son was now Martin Luther King, Jr. and became a minister, like his father. Not only was Martin a minister, but he also had a Ph.D. A pastor who can deliver God’s word like medicine. Dr. King wrote a sermon titled, “Paul’s letter to American Christian” making it out like the great apostle’s letters to different churches that make up thirteen books of the New Testament. The sermon addressed many issues, Dr. King, felt the need to say but did it in Pauline’s ways. The Body of Christ of America needs to know God is watching and His humble servant does it as Martin Luther did on October 31, 1571, telling the Catholic church, you are not the true church.
“I am disturbed about Roman Catholicism. This church stands before the world with its pomp and power, insisting that it possesses the only truth. It incorporates an arrogance that becomes a dangerous spiritual arrogance. It stands with its noble Pope who somehow rises to the miraculous heights of infallibility when he speaks ex-cathedra. But I am disturbed about a person or an institution that claims infallibility in this world. I am disturbed about any church that refuses to cooperate with other churches under the pretense that it is the only true church. I must emphasize the fact that God is not a Roman Catholic, and that the boundless sweep of his revelation cannot be limited to the Vatican. Roman Catholicism must do a great deal to mend its way. “
To the Catholic Church, the Pope represents the Lord here on earth. He can dictate how the church is governed. The title pope is a mix of Greek and Latin, meaning papa or father, but his official title is Vicarius Filii Dei, meaning representative of the Son of God. Since the creation of the Catholic Church, the Pope has changed or removed the commandments of God. The second commandment that forbids idol worship is not of Catholic doctrine, and the fourth commandment seventh days Sabbath was moved to the first day of the week. Christmas, Easter, and Good Friday are also traditions the Catholic church established that are all completely unbiblical. When any question the authority of the Pope, the church will consider them a heretic and they would be made to suffer like an outlaw. Reformers, like Luther, would use bold words to proclaim that the Pope is the Antichrist, and he is not God the Father on earth. All people are saved by grace, not by works, and the Lord is the only one who can forgive sins and give everlasting life. God bless you all, Jesus loves you and so do I.
